Of course the AT News Alert is not the only blog concerned with anti-terrorism. See also the The Nuclear Control Institute's website at www.nci.org - this is probably the pre-eminent website concerned with the potential threat of nuclear terrorism. The Wake-Up Call. The First and Last Blog You Need to Read.

We recently reported on the following subject of nuclear terror in our sister publication "The Anti-Zen Handbook". We felt that the topic was too serious and too important to be left alone in a publication like The Handbook. We think that this is the most important topic to the lives and welfare of all humanity at this crucial date in history. It is, as they now say, a "tipping point". It seems all too possible that terrorists will soon have illicit new nuclear weapons at their ready. It seems all too probable that they (the nuclear terrorists) will use this/these weapon(s) against some prime target like; New York City, Chicago, Boston, maybe even the city you currently live and work in. Our primary goal and objective here is to communicate important information to you so that we may all continue to experience the current quality of life we have. This website is now our priority number one. Having said that, please read on.

In the most recent issue of the "Bulletin of Atomic Scientists" (Sept./Oct. 2006) we found the articles on "Nuclear 9/11" and (in the "Opinions" section) "Criminal Acts". In the "Nuclear 9/11" article, author Graham Allison gives us the risk assessment equation on page 36 of the issue, "Risk equals probability times consequences". Given that the chances for a nuclear terrorist attack are probably, probably 100% (maybe not in the US, but a nearby target in the Northern or Western hemisphere) and the potential casualties being 1 million and collateral casualties possibly being 3 million with a potential 50% decrease in the US GDP, we at the AT News Alert estimate the risk potential for a terrorist nuclear attack to be equal/equivalent to 8 million American citizen's lives. By extension of this metric, we are of the opinion that up to one-third of the world population (or the equivalent in GDP) could be decimated by one single nuclear terrorist attack event.

We think we are talking about a real wake-up call here people.
